DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS
Several disorders can present with skin lesions that resemble the various cutaneous manifestations of vasculitis; the most common entities in the differential diagnosis are listed in Table 24.3. Similarly, histologic findings of vasculitis may be seen in other conditions which are not types of primary vasculitis, including arthropod bites, neutrophilic dermatoses, and cutaneous ulceration. Careful clinicopathologic correlation is necessary to differentiate these vasculitis mimickers.
