The term โrosaceaโ encompasses a constellation of clinical findings, with either fixed centrofacial erythema in a characteristic pattern that may periodically intensify or phymatous changes classified as diagnostic features. Other common features are papules and pustules, flushing, telangiectasia, and ocular manifestations such as blepharitis and chalazia. Many patients report increased facial skin sensitivity and dryness, often identifying specific aggravating triggers. The progression of rosacea is variable and at times unpredictable, with sporadic periods of exacerbations and remissions. For some patients, the psychosocial impact of this disorder can be marked.
