ERYTHROKERATODERMAS
Erythrokeratodermas are disorders of cornification characterized by sharply demarcated keratotic plaques that are symmetrically distributed on the extremities, trunk, and/or face. The plaques tend to slowly expand over time and may be accompanied by migratory erythematous patches with circinate borders, as observed in erythrokeratodermia variabilis et progressiva. In addition to the conditions described below and in Tables 57.1 and 57.2 in which erythrokeratoderma (syndromic or nonsyndromic) represents the primary cutaneous finding, patients with other ichthyoses and PPKs occasionally present with erythrokeratoderma-like well-circumscribed keratotic plaques and/or circinate erythematous patches.
