DYSCHROMATOSES

Dyschromatoses are characterized by the presence of both hypo- and hyperpigmentation (Figs. 67.27โ€“67.29). Often, at least one component of the dyspigmentation is guttate. The two classic dyschromatoses, dyschromatosis symmetrica hereditaria and dyschromatosis universalis hereditaria, are discussed in this section. A more recently recognized entity, acquired brachial cutaneous dyschromatosis, is also described. Additional dyschromatoses are listed in Table 67.11.
