現代放射治療已進入一個嶄新而令人振奮的時代。精準的順形放射治療(conformal radiotherapy)正透過精密的三維 CT 為基礎的計畫與治療系統來給予。強度調控放射治療(intensity-modulated radiotherapy, IMRT)使腫瘤劑量得以提升、正常組織劑量得以下降。將 MRI 與功能性影像(如正子斷層造影 positron emission tomography, PET)整合進計畫系統,進一步強化了放射治療的精準給予,反射式共軛焦顯微鏡(reflectance confocal microscopy)亦可能如此。
